Guild Wars 2 FULL MULTILANG

Guild Wars 2 is a paradise for explorers and thrill-seekers alike, and the best online role-playing game in years.

The Good

  • Fluid movement and combat are consistently entertaining
  • Rethinks genre tropes in ways that keep you exploring
  • Exciting player-versus-player battlefields
  • Flexible skill system lets you adjust your play style
  • Beautiful visuals with a painterly flair.

The Bad

  • Does a mediocre job of explaining important concepts
  • Some lingering technical issues and other annoyances.
The world of Tyria, as imagined in the massively multiplayer Guild Wars 2, is an endlessly intriguing place, stuffed with mystery and adventure, gifting you with gorgeous sights and personal stories that etch themselves into your memory. These are the kinds of stories you tell for months to come--and they arise from your own spontaneous experiences. There's the one about how you and your guildmates emerged from chilly waters into an ominous thunderstorm, captured a tower from the enemy, and escaped from a roaring crowd of necromancers and rangers before they could deliver you to the devil. Then there's the one where a giant lightning-breathing dragon landed in a dark-misted field, and you joined a legion of soldiers to cleanse the land of its blight. Guild Wars 2 strips away the traditional game of "follow the waypoint," allowing you to feel like part of a vast living landscape rather than the tool of a thousand and one taskmasters.

FTL: Faster Than Light FULL MULTILANG

Thrilling combat and strategic depth make indie space sim Faster Than Light a hit.

The Good

  • Strategically rewarding gameplay makes you feel like a starship captain
  • Fast-paced campaign loaded with tense combat
  • Many hours of enjoyable spacefaring adventure for just $10.

The Bad

  • Lacking in encounter variety.
Faster Than Light might not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. This spaceship simulation may look like something from the golden age of 16-bit gaming, but it offers a good deal of fun and depth. Unlike space sims that make you feel like you've had your head jammed in a Jefferies tube during an ion storm (if we can mix sci-fi franchises for a moment), this lighter entry in the genre combines an endearing retro feel and an even more endearing $10 price tag with gripping gameplay packed with tough choices and frenetic combat.

Closure FULL MULTILANG

Closure introduces intriguing puzzle-solving mechanics in an oppressive world, creating a cerebral and moody adventure.

The Good

  • Imaginative light/dark relationship
  • A wide variety of clever puzzles
  • Smooth difficulty curve
  • Well-realized aesthetics.

The Bad

  • Small control issues.
Unimaginable horrors hide in the darkness. Is there a monster lurking just out of sight? Or maybe a deadly trap poised to cut you to shreds? In Closure, such conventional fears never surface. Rather, it's the darkness itself that poses the biggest threat. To step off the lightened path into the gaping, black abyss is to know death up close and personal. One misstep and you're swallowed whole. The rules defy the very basics of reality, opening the door for a diverse assortment of puzzling rooms that leave you gasping at their sheer inventiveness. Death greets you when light fades away, and it's through this dynamic that Closure establishes itself as a smart and perplexing puzzler.

F1 2012 FULL MULTILANG

Thrilling racing and a friendlier approach to newcomers make F1 2012 the best entry in the series yet.

The Good

  • Thrilling and believable racing
  • Approachable for newcomers
  • Additional game modes create a more complete F1 package
  • Wonderful audio design.

The Bad

  • Off-track action is dull
  • No Grand Prix mode.
Codemasters' third Formula One game sees the series finally find its feet. A broader range of game modes gives you much more to do, while great care has been taken to ease newcomers into the game. Though F1 2012 doesn't capture the magic that surrounds the sport, the on-circuit action is the best and most exciting of the series. You'll be holding your breath as you sweep around the majestic corners of world-renowned circuits, cursing as opponents swerve past you, and punching the air as you reach the chequered flag for months to come.

Shad'O FULL MULTILANG

Beautiful graphics and an interesting plot elevate Shad'O above its tower defense ilk.

The Good

  • Solid tower defense gameplay
  • Aesthetically pleasing
  • Good storyline told in an interesting way.

The Bad

  • Lacks hotkeys
  • Poor translation from French.
Shad'O is a game of hints and allusions, a game where you're never sure what's going on or what's coming up. The story of Shad'O is revealed in little snippets upon completion of a level; nothing is made too clear right away, because this game is all about revealing (or, more accurately, protecting) memories in the mind of a little boy. As you progress, more and more is revealed about the boy's story, what happened to his memory, and who he actually is. In a small way, it's quite compelling, like an After School Special with tower defense gameplay thrown in.

Borderlands 2 FULL MULTILANG

Stellar writing and a host of small improvements help Borderlands 2 stand tall on the shoulders of its predecessor.

The Good

  • A ton of great mission writing and dialogue
  • Enticing loot and experience rewards
  • Intriguing skill trees
  • Rich, inviting gameworld.

The Bad

  • Spoken messages sometimes interrupt each other
  • One character ability is not substantially different from the core gunplay.
There were a lot of things that made Borderlands such a great game when it came out three years ago: the hardscrabble planet, the oddball characters, the hostile creatures, the diverse missions, the abundant loot, the powerful skill trees, and the novelty of all these things combined in a cooperative first-person shooter. In Borderlands 2, the novelty is gone, but all of the other elements are back and better than ever. This sequel doubles down on the successes of the original and shores up its shortcomings, improving the familiar formula and delivering dozens and dozens of hours of immensely entertaining gameplay.

Transcripted FULL MULTILANG

Transcripted is a refreshing mixture of twin-stick shooter and tile matching that entertains despite some minor hiccups.

The Good

  • Satisfying mixture of two genres
  • Robust upgrade tree
  • Smooth learning curve
  • Challenge levels add replay value.

The Bad

  • Escort levels are cumbersome
  • Issues with gamepad compatibility.

Torchlight II FULL MULTILANG

Torchlight II's steady onslaught of enemies is usually enjoyable to manage. However, on occasion, things get out of hand, and the action can start to chug when the screen fills with enemies. Additionally, architecture can occasionally block the camera. You see outlines of yourself and enemies through walls, but it's not a good substitute for an unobstructed view. Still, Torchlight II's terrific enemy variety keeps you on your toes, and its frequent boss fights make for exciting climaxes to each leg of your journey. Not to mention rewarding ones.

The Walking Dead: ALL EPISODES FULL MULTILANG

The Walking Dead series shambles to a brief but moving conclusion that doesn't quite live up to the gruesome brilliance of earlier chapters.

Dishonored FULL MULTILANG

Dishonored is a game about many things. It's about revenge; armed with deadly weapons and supernatural powers, you seek vengeance upon all of those who orchestrated your downfall. It's about a city; the plague-ridden industrial port of Dunwall is lovely to behold, exciting to explore, and seething with secrets. It's about people; an array of vibrant characters await you, and as you get to know them, you are drawn further into their intrigues, hopes, and heartbreaks. But above all, it's about choice. The incredible variety of ways you can engage or evade your enemies makes Dishonored impressively flexible and utterly captivating.

Far Cry 3 FULL MULTILANG

Far Cry 3 is a delightful and harsh tropical wonderland, crawling with wildlife and threatened by the pirates and drug runners that disrupt its peace. The troubled paradise you explore is colorful and wild, enticing you to investigate its ravines and discover new ways to enjoy the open-world playground sprawling in front of you. This is a game that ignites the desire to complete every last challenge and check out every last icon on your map. You gradually journey across the entirety of two sunny and sinful islands, hunting for rare game, speeding medicine to needy communities, and skinning sharks so that you might craft new wallets with their hides. Far Cry 3 is an excellent game, marred mainly by some irritating design elements and an inconsistent story that often defaults to generic "tribal" cliches to make an impact.

Ravaged FULL MULTILANG

Nothing kills the buzz of a fast-paced run-and-gun multiplayer shooter quite like not having anybody to shoot at. With its huge postapocalyptic battlegrounds and Mad Max-style vehicular-centric combat, Ravaged had a sanguine start that dried up too quickly as its already anemic player base hemorrhaged out across the empty wasteland. The intense blend of on-foot firefights and high-speed chases makes for some thrilling 32-on-32 battles when you can find enough folks to populate a server. Unfortunately, the severe lack of a dedicated player community to keep Ravaged afloat is a real problem--and it isn't the only one.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown FULL MULTILANG

XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Slingshot asks the question: is more of the same enough to satisfy you? If so, and if you don't mind starting a new game from scratch, then you already know what you need to know about the first major downloadable content for this great turn-based strategy game. For $6.99, you get three smartly designed levels, the latter two of which keep tensions appropriately high as you encounter the same horrifying aliens that hovered ominously over the original game. The DLC also provides certain tweaks that open up powerful technology, such as the fusion core, earlier than you would normally expect, and it also adds some cosmetic customization options to fiddle with. But ultimately, Slingshot is an hour's worth of "more," and it struggles to find a worthwile place in the XCOM project.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition FULL MULTILANG

Calling a game "enhanced" justifiably raises expectations. You go into it looking for something extra, an improvement over the original plain-Jane version that you can see and feel. With that in mind, it is hard to view Overhaul Games' Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition as anything but a disappointment. Yes, this revamped and pumped-up take on the 1998 Dungeons & Dragons classic from BioWare is just as compelling and hard to put down as the 14-year-old forebear that became a gold standard for role-playing games. But it doesn't add anything of real value to the experience aside from interface and graphical tweaks long available to the original game through free mods, along with largely forgettable new content in a trio of potential party members and an arena combat mode. And to make matters worse, the game arrived loaded with bugs and remains shaky even after a few patches.

Kentucky Route Zero - Act I FULL MULTILANG

Kentucky Route Zero. It's a lost highway in rural America, and reaching it isn't as simple as driving your truck onto the on-ramp. The first entry in this episodic adventure series is stylish and moody, urging you to consider what riddles lie ahead by giving you haunted glimpses of the lives the locals lead and once led. Beneath this style, however, isn't much substance. Kentucky Route Zero invites you to participate in its story by allowing you to select dialogue that fits your vision of who its main characters are. But your choices impact only that vision, not the path the characters follow, and many such choices feel hollow and game-ish. In a certain regard, Kentucky Route Zero is like the performance of a talented magician who diverts your attention from his trick with a dramatic flourish.

Tomb Raider Scavenger Hunt FULL MULTILANG

With all the talk of a more vulnerable, realistic Lara Croft, we delve into the first 2.5 hours of the game to find out just how human this heroine is.
Video games often struggle to produce believable characters. Striking the right balance between fiction and reality is hard for any medium, let alone one whose drive to entertain frequently overrides its capacity to comment on the human condition. This is why we generally commend video games that succeed in creating convincing virtual worlds, but abstain from criticizing the ones that don't.
Of course, any game that explicitly promises players a glimpse of this elusive verisimilitude is exempt from the rule.
The upcoming Tomb Raider reboot from Crystal Dynamics has made a point of emphasizing the believability of its protagonist Lara Croft. We are led to believe the much-loved gaming heroine has been reworked into a younger, more vulnerable creature without her trademark impishness and overt sex appeal. We are told the game will pay more attention to Lara as a person, giving her a more complex set of feelings and capturing the not-so-glamorous side of a human being coming to terms with her own mortality; a necessary reminder that heroes are made, not born.

Grid 2 FULL MULTILANG

After four long years, Grid returns not just as a fast-paced street racer, but as an online experience that hopes to rank among the very best that gaming has to offer. The multiplayer isn't just an extension of the single-player, says Codemasters, but an entirely separate entity created to keep players locked behind the wheel. Rivalries will be nurtured, race types will be bent to the wills of players, and a progression system will ensure that everyone starts on a level playing field--none of your single-player progress is taken into account online.

LOST PLANET 3 FULL MULTILANG

Peyton, like the Lost Planet heroes before him, has to survive by shooting insect-like aliens in the orange glowy bits while traversing from one frozen cavern to another. At times he'll jump into a big robotic mech suit to squash these bugs more thoroughly than he would on foot, including the boss fight I played where I got to pick up a massive scorpion-looking monster and drill it right in the weak spot. It was basically like a Big Daddy doing pest control on a frozen planet.
In other words, it plays like a Lost Planet game. Perhaps a bit more methodical and less squirrelly thanks to the lack of a grappling hook this time around, but a Lost Planet game just the same. And I think that's why the western thing interests me so much. It's not impeding on the core of the series; it's a new stylistic layer wrapped around it.
It all feels very lawless and wild. This is, after all, a prequel to the original game that focuses on the early days of colonists living on E.D.N. III. You meet these characters that feel very on-edge and paranoid about the dangers and hazards they're learning to deal with, from the alien life forms to the frozen climate that seems to be wearing them down. Running into one of these characters in the demo, I almost had flashbacks to some of the crazy personalities I met back in Red Dead Redemption.

Fifa 2013 FULL MULTILANG

Graphically, FIFA 13 isn’t a huge improvement on its immediate predecessor. But it does benefit considerably from new contextual animations – basically, players recover from challenges and react in situations as they would in real life – sliding to keep a ball in play, for instance. It just helps sell the illusion that little bit more.
The changes this year aren’t as bombastic as last year’s headline features but they definitely not the product of restless tinkering. While FIFA 12 is still fun if you go back to it after playing 13 for a decent amount of time, play genuinely feels more restrictive and slightly mechanical in retrospect.
FIFA 13 is extremely generous to those who want a more committed football experience, not just a quick kick-around. It’s a game swollen with content. Be A Pro, Ultimate Team, Tournaments from around the world… It’s still all there. And there’s even more this year. Skill Games are a really fun addition, covering all the fundamentals of the game, from crossing to passing to shooting. It even lets you get up to speed with the game’s new tactical free kicks, in which you can use decoy runners. Each discipline has different bronze, silver, and gold challenges. They’re not much a teaching aid, however, more an opportunity to practice and commit key skills to muscle memory. Once you’ve earned your stripes, a ‘Skill Challenge’ is unlocked for that discipline allowing you to post a high score to share with your friends.

Diablo 3 FULL MULTILANG OFFLINE

Video Review - Diablo III
Diablo III is the third installment of the popular franchise in which players will return to Sanctuary to confront evil in its many forms once again. The game takes place on Sanctuary, a world of dark fantasy. Unbeknownst to most of its inhabitants, Sanctuary was saved some twenty years ago from the demonic forces of the underworld by a few brave and powerful heroes. Most of those warriors who directly faced the armies of the Burning Hells--and were fortunate enough to survive--went mad from their experiences. And most of the others have buried their haunted memories and pushed the horrors from their thoughts.

The War Z FULL

So many massively multiplayer games are all about what you make them. A wide-open atmosphere can make online experiences incredibly rewarding, adding a sense of freedom and community that isn't possible when playing solo. In the case of The War Z, however, freedom and community have been allowed to run wild to such a point that the game is almost unplayable. Hammerpoint Interactive's look at life after the zombie apocalypse is a complete disaster. It's ridiculous that this game is being sold, with unfinished features, loads of bugs, wildly out-of-control player killing, and a system of micropayments that couldn't steal more money from players if you gave it a mask and a gun.

MICROSOFT OFFICE 2013 FULL MULTILANG

Although consumers and businesses are turning more often to Web-based software and mobile apps, many millions still depend on Microsoft Office to get their work done every day. The folks in Redmond want you to use Office wherever you go—on your PC, your tablet, and your Windows Phone handset. To that end, Microsoft is pushing deep integration between its desktop applications and your data, stored on Microsoft servers.
Office 2013, the next edition of Microsoft’s flagship productivity suite, is avaiable for business customer but won’t go on sale to consumers until the first quarter of 2013. This review focuses on the desktop applications, which you'll be able to buy either on their own or as part of the cloud-connected Office 365 suite next year. We'll review Office 365 when it becomes available.
Both the Office 2013 and Office 365 packages provide online document storage and collaboration. The primary difference between the two? Office 365 is constantly updated, and it lets you run Office away from your main PC via an Office on Demand virtualization tool. Office 365 users get extra online storage and, for the Small Business option, add-ons such as shared calendars and HD videoconferencing.
In addition to the highly touted cloud features, the new Office desktop applications look sleeker and deliver several useful improvements.
